OUR FARM !!!

“Blood Moon” was the description used by the ancients to describe the moon during a total eclipse and was thought to represent fertility.

Margie and David MacDonald (with the eager assistance of their grown children) have been raising alpacas since 2004.  Over the years, both have utilized the knowledge and skills attained during their professional careers in health care in working with the alpacas.  Both Margie and David are very active in the ‘Alpaca community’ in Ontario, serving on committees for Alpaca Ontario and volunteering for events.

Margie’s interest in the fibre arts (which was the driving force behind the decision to raise alpacas) has been enhanced by recently completing both the Basic Camelid Farm Sorter and the Camelid Sorter/Grader Certificate courses taught by Ruth Elvestad.

The MacDonald’s are actively developing “alpaca awareness” within the community, and always encourage visits from tourists, friends and prospective alpaca breeders. We also participate in local events such as studio tours and fall fairs.

Our aim is to develop top quality breeding standards, which will produce sound conformation, good disposition, and excellent fibre.

Our farm gate is always open for you to come and visit! If you are considering purchasing alpacas let us help you understand our experience of raising these truly wonderful animals. We do have fine quality mature and young stock for sale. Give us a call at anytime we would love to hear from you!
